1936-S Arkansas Centennial MS 66 PCGS/CAC

$485

Original, un-tampered with surfaces, accented by just a hint of gray, blue/green and lilac toning.  With a low net mintage of 9,662 coins for this issue, just 19 examples have been stickered by CAC in the Mint State 66 grade and only 2 examples have been verified by CAC in a higher grade.

1936 Elgin MS 66 PCGS/CAC

$550

Outstanding luster is the striking characteristic of this Elgin commem.  It’s an overall bright white coin, accented by a subtle transparent gold highlight, attesting to the coin’s originality.  With a mid-range mintage of 20,015 pieces, CAC has stickered 238 examples of this issue in MS 66 and 13 coins higher grades.

1922 Grant MS 66 PCGS/CAC

$1150

A mostly brilliant coin with a subtle multi-color tone around much of the periphery on both sides.  Just 40 examples of this issue have been verified and stickered by CAC in the MS 66 grade, with just 7 pieces stickered higher.  This is the preferred Grant type coin of the two issues, as the low mintage variety exhibiting a “Star” above Grant’s name normally sells for more than 10 times the price of this issue.

1935 Hudson MS 66 PCGS/CAC

$2850

Brilliant and lustrous with light tan toning around parts of the periphery on both sides.   A lower mintage issue – just 10,008 pieces.  CAC has stickered only 37 examples in this grade and none higher.  It takes some waiting and looking to find this issue offered in this grade in the market.

1934 Maryland MS 66 PCGS/CAC

$575

A very lustrous, brilliant white coin – strictly original surfaces.  Very fitting for a nice “white” set.  No outstanding marks – a premium quality coin.  CAC Population total is 139 in MS 66 with just 9 coins verified as 67.  Priced in line with current auction prices realized – toned examples have often been bringing at least a couple hundred dollars more.

1921 Missouri MS 65 PCGS/CAC

$3600

A predominantly brilliant white coin with a hint of toning interspersed within the details, especially on the reverse – again, mostly brilliant white – strictly original and un-tampered with.  No outstanding marks, but not a 66 which will cost two to three times more.  This issue has a relatively low mintage of only 11,400 pieces – just 2,000 more examples were struck than for the “2X4” variety which trades for a higher price.

1936 Norfolk MS 67 PCGS/CAC

$850

Simply a gorgeous, predominantly brilliant white coin, layered with a subtle, transparent bluish tint – almost imperceptible, but attesting to the coin’s originality.  Norfolks are generally found nice, so this grade is not rare, but the MS 67 grade is not found in most price guides and auction results are the benchmark for this grade.  This coin is CAC approved and stickered, one of 168 such coins, and as such is worth comparatively more money than those that don’t meet this standard.  Auction sales of around $1,000 and much higher have been found for this issue in MS 67 PCGS/CAC, and an MS 68 is worth multiples.

1926 Oregon MS 66 PCGS/CAC

$450

Brilliant and white with the slightest peripheral tone – very original surfaces.  This is the scarcer of the two type issues of this popular Oregon Trail design – with just over half the mintage of the 1926-S issue.  The CAC population of this 1926 Philadelphia issue is 67 coins in MS 66.

1921 Pilgrim MS 66 PCGS/CAC

$900

Very lustrous and white, with a hint of original peripheral toning.  The typical die polish marks of this issue are exhibited in the obverse field.  This 1921 issue has the added “1921” date in the left obverse field and is the lower mintage of the two issues – by far.  Just 20,053 coins were struck, compared to 152,112 of the 1920 issue, and the price is not a whole lot higher than that for other issue.  Just 44 examples of this 1921 issue have been stickered by CAC in the MS 66 grade – as such, they don’t show up at auction all that often.

1936 Rhode Island MS 66 PCGS/CAC

$400

Gorgeous light lilac/blue toning over lustrous surfaces that are accented by a light natural golden/brown peripheral toning.  The underlying luster is so reflective – it’s got proof-like qualities!  Just 82 pieces have been CAC stickered in this grade with only 3 coins grading higher.

1937 Roanoke MS 67 PCGS/CAC

$1050

A virtually flawless coin accented by light golden toning overlaying natural blue/gray lustrous surfaces.  Just 52 examples stickered by CAC in this MS 67 grade – only 2 pieces stickered higher by CAC.  Uncommon as such at auction.

1936-D San Diego MS 67 PCGS/CAC

$1650

The look of this coin is mesmerizing!  Frosty luster is virtually unbroken with imperfections while a beautiful russet toning accents the surfaces, mostly around the peripheries.  Try to find another – CAC has stickered just 22 examples in MS 67 and none higher, while PCGS has only graded 72 pieces in the MS 67 grade, again with none higher.  This is the preferred issue to own of this two issue series – while prices are just a little higher for this issue compared to its 1935-S counterpart, the mintage is less than half that of the 1935-S.

1935 Texas MS 66 PCGS/CAC

$400

Brilliant white and lustrous – no toning.  With a mintage of just 9,996 this issue is scarcer than the 1934 issue that has a mintage of 61,463 and what is normally purchased as a type coin for the Texas issue.  Even so, the price for this issue is similar to that of the above.  The CAC population for this 1935 issue from Philadelphia is 59 coins, with 52 grading higher and trading at roughly twice the price, or even higher.

1925 Vancouver MS 66 PCGS/CAC

$1750

Gorgeous rainbow toning, exhibiting blue, green, lavender, russet and gold, highlight the peripheries of this coin with luster displayed under this layer of natural toning.  Minute contact marks are present, but overshadowed by the great eye-appeal of this rainbow toned piece.  A moderately low mintage of 14,994 examples was struck, and 58 coins have been stickered by CAC in this grade with 9 coins verified as higher grades.

1936 Wisconsin MS 66 PCGS/CAC

$375

“Whitish” and lustrous with a hint of golden toning over strictly natural, original surfaces.  This is relatively common issue with a mintage of 25,015 and 215 examples stickered by CAC in MS 66, but this is a PCGS pedigreed coin – “Guttag Family” – that carries the CAC sticker.

1936 York MS 67 PCGS/CAC

$600

Totally brilliant white and extremely lustrous – probably not original.  No large outstanding contact marks.  CAC population is 79 with 5 examples grading higher.
